Based in the Washington, D.C. metro region, he has become one of the area’s most sought-after instrumentalists, with a versatile performance style rooted in jazz improvisation. Brendan’s performance credentials include tours throughout the world and performances at major music festivals including The National Cannabis Festival, Floydfest,Musikfest, the Wine and Jazz Music Festival (Charleston, WV), and the Autumn Reggae Festival (Mt. Airy, MD), sharing bills with artists such as Ludacris, Wiz Khalifa, Ghostface Killah, Lettuce, Action Bronson, Thievery Corporation, and Eric Marienthal.\n\n Besides his busy performance schedule, Brendan is an active music educator in many subjects, including saxophone performance, jazz improvisation, jazz ensemble, jazz history, music theory, and world music. He currently serves as Adjunct Professor of Music at Virginia Commonwealth University based in Richmond, VA.\n \n \n \nParker Speirs grew up in a suburb of Phoenix, Arizona, where he discovered a love of guitar, through which he immersed himself in various styles of music. Always fascinated with spontaneity and harmonic possibilities, he has developed strong proclivities as both a composer and improviser in numerous styles, focusing largely on jazz, classical, rock, and other modern domains. This blend of playing styles has afforded Parker opportunities to play supporting roles as a studio musician and sideman on a national scale, in addition to his own work as a band leader and collaborator. His most recent recorded examples include a densely orchestrated film score-esque album called Brain Cinema, and Classical Leftovers with his crossover trio, The Inventures. Parker is also an active music educator and has given numerous clinics and masterclasses at secondary and collegiate levels.\n \n \n \nA special thank you to our event sponsors, [PNC Private Bank](https://www.pnc.com/en/personal-banking/private-bank.html) and [Valuation Services, Inc](https://www.valuationservice.com/)\n \n\n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \nRegistration for this event has closed. \n \nShould you need to cancel your registration, please email nvepc@ascent-management.com before registration closes.  NVEPC provides food and beverages at events based on registration numbers.  In order to keep costs low for our members, we request that you cancel your registration if you find you are unable to attend.\n \nRegistration fees are non-refundable.\n
